From the founding of NSU Computer Club in 1993 to leading nationwide tech festivals and social impact initiatives, NSUCEC has grown into a 33+ year powerhouse of innovation and collaboration.
The roots of NSUCEC trace back to 1993 with the founding of NSU Computer Club, one of the earliest student-led initiatives for computing and technology at North South University. Over the years, the club fostered a strong culture of programming, technical learning, and collaboration through workshops, competitions, and peer-driven activities.
In 2015, NSU Computer Club merged with NSU Wireless Forum and NSU SSET to form NSUCEC (NSU Computer & Engineering Club). This merger brought together communities focused on computing, telecommunications, and broader engineering, creating a unified platform for interdisciplinary student engagement.
Over the past decade, NSUCEC has grown into a central hub for technology and engineering activities at NSU. The club regularly organizes workshops, competitions, hackathons, and collaborative events that engage students across disciplines. Initiatives such as NSU Tech Fest 2025 and other large-scale events reflect its expanding scope and participation beyond campus.
Today, NSUCEC continues to build on this legacy through events like GAMEWAVE 2.0 and Cybernauts 2026 - a multi-segment technology event featuring programming, cybersecurity (CTF), robotics, and esports. With an active student community, growing alumni network, and ongoing industry engagement, the club remains a key platform for practical learning, collaboration, and innovation at North South University.
33 years of growth, innovation, and leadership from 1993 to 2026
NSU Computer Club was founded at North South University, establishing an early student-led platform for computing and technology engagement. It introduced a culture of programming, technical learning, and collaboration among students.
NSU Computer Club operated alongside specialized communities such as NSU Wireless Forum (telecommunications and networking) and NSU SSET (science, robotics, and engineering). Together, these student-led groups fostered interdisciplinary technical learning and innovation.
NSU Computer & Engineering Club (NSU CEC) was established in Fall 2015 through the merger of NSU Computer Club, NSU Wireless Forum, and NSU SSET, creating a unified platform for computing, telecommunications, and engineering activities at NSU.
Following its formation, NSU CEC expanded its membership and regularly organized workshops, programming contests, and seminars. It developed into a central student platform connecting CSE and EEE communities.
Events such as Cybernauts and technical workshops began attracting participants from multiple universities, marking the club’s growing presence beyond NSU.
During COVID-19 restrictions, NSU CEC shifted to online platforms, organizing webinars, virtual competitions, and remote workshops. These efforts ensured continuity and maintained engagement despite campus closures.
With the return to campus, NSU CEC resumed in-person events including RoboQuest, Bit Arena, and workshops on AI and robotics. Increased participation and collaborations reflected renewed student interest and a steady expansion of activities.
NSU CEC expanded into esports and social initiatives through events like GAMEWAVE, a charity tournament supporting flood-affected communities. Additional activities such as blockchain workshops and industry visits broadened both technical exposure and community engagement.
NSU Tech Fest 2025 featured hackathons, robotics competitions, gaming tournaments, and technical workshops, reflecting the club’s growing scale and diversity. GAMEWAVE 2.0 further expanded esports activities, highlighting the club’s effort to include both traditional and emerging areas of student engagement.
NSU CEC organizes Cybernauts 2026, a multi-segment technology festival featuring programming competitions, Capture the Flag (CTF) cybersecurity challenges, robotics contests, and esports tournaments. The event brings together students from multiple universities for hands-on competition and collaboration. Alongside initiatives like GAMEWAVE 2.0 and regular workshops, the club continues to strengthen its role as a central platform for student-led technology and engineering activities at NSU.
As we move through 2026 and beyond, NSUCEC remains committed to our core mission: empowering the next generation of engineers and innovators.
We envision a future where NSUCEC becomes a globally recognized hub for tech innovation in South Asia, where students don't just learn technology but create it. Through expanded partnerships with international tech companies, advanced research initiatives, and inclusive programs, we are building pathways for aspiring engineers to turn their ideas into reality.
NSUCEC continues to empower engineers to think, build, and innovate while bridging academia and industry, and leading Bangladesh's next wave of technological excellence.
